Qualifications:

  • Participate and take a leadership role in the Consulting and validation process including:

  • Manage validation activities for Consulting Services Related projects for product validations (ISTA, IATA, ASTM, etc.) and shipping lane validations.

    • Assist in optimizing existing protocols, processes and reporting for validation activities
    • Coordinate with external third-party testing laboratories to ensure protocol execution, timelines and quality metrics achieved
  • Receive information, assemble requests & requirements and formulate solutions via validation activities including, but not limited to; shipping-lane-validation, packaging configurations and validations (systemized distribution testing, thermal testing, etc.), load patterns, and similar logistic(s) variables.
  • Lead product challenge activities including:
    • Create purchasing specifications for testing and calibration of equipment
    • Interact with clients to the extent of understanding challenges, creating solutions to resolve potential impediments to validation success, and deliver on-time per agreed schedules
  • Provide budget requirements and monitor expenses to budget
  • Support New Product Development Process including:
    • Perform FMEA risk assessment and determine risk mitigation strategies.
    • Assist in the development of process related documentation
    • Support Supplier Evaluation and Monitoring program
      • Assist with selection of supplier
      • Evaluate supplier product and process information to determine approval status
  • Evaluate change control requests for potential for revalidation requirements.
  • Provide technical support during non-conforming material, customer complaint and deviation investigations and assist in the determination of appropriate CAPA.
  • Keep current with industry standards and regulatory guidelines – specifically those around packaging validation and transport of biologic materials (IATA, ISTA, ASTM, ISO, etc.)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Educational background – B.S. in Scientific Field
  • 5 or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry and/or relevant experience in packaging design, heat transfer, cryogenics with knowledge of:
    • Equipment and Process Validation using IQ, OQ, and PQ.
    • Familiarity with FMEA, DOE, DMAIC, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Assembly (DFA) tools and methods are desirable.
    • Cleaning validation, cGMP and FDA validation methodology is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Office application (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
